Welcome to Sevenstar Tarot and my first post on the Tarot Combination Series. As a self-proclaimed Master of Keys and Access, Tarot is far beyond my favorite tool to access insight into the Soul's interior domain. I believe it is through the portal within ourselves in which we ultimately raise our consciousness and thus our overall station in life. As a mystic, if you so wish, you can use tarot to travel the gateways of the Soul to lead you to your manifest destiny. What is that anyway? I choose to believe it is our deepest fulfillment and satisfaction in life. By fulfilling our deepest, most authentic desires, it is not only to our greatest benefit, but of the greatest benefit of all humanity.

Why? Because if you are FREE to CREATE the life the way you want and let nothing else deter or influence you, then you are an example to others that it is possible. Maybe, just maybe, you will inspire others in their own liberation. Can you imagine a world of free-thinkers and free-doers?

To attain that ultimate goal of freedom and creation is not easy task. We must first go through layers of illusion, conditioning and karma. We have to get out of our own way. We have to know ourselves deeply and fully. How else can we make the most informed of choices, take the optimum action to get to where we most authentically want to go? How do we follow that path of the straight and narrow? Occultists, alchemists, and mystics before us have studied and passed down the hidden knowledge of the ancients and they have discovered there is a pattern to this "Fool's Journey" to "Know Thyself." This journey arguably leads us to the ultimate goal of raising our consciousness and frequency so that we reclaim our Divinity. We regain our ability to create and manifest reality.

There are many layers and nuances to this process, and even varying school's of thought. I won't even pretend that I can offer the 'whole' of this concept, I am instead choosing to use the Tarot, specifically, the Smith-Waite Tarot, in various combinations in the hopes that it is a Key to unlock a doorway within you to walk through. Think of it as a visual code that you can run on your Soul's internal programming to start emitting a NEW frequency. You can improve upon yourself and hopefully, lead your Soul on a path to liberation.

Each week, I will sit in sacred space, open myself to deep listening and decide how many Tarot cards I will draw for the week. For example, this week's post will be 3 Cards. The idea is to describe what it means to have drawn these 3 cards together, how they relate to one another and what the overall message is. Ideally, my hope is that it provides clarity, illumination, inspiration and mayhap even a goal or solution you can work towards. Maybe even an action you can take to travel the straight and narrow path to your most authentic Soul journey.

I decided to use both the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana together, although I did contemplate using only the Major Arcana, but I felt there is a plethora of material out there that provides meanings for the various Trump (Major Arcana) combinations. For those of you who do not know what the Major Arcana is, it is the first 22 cards of the 78 card deck that deal in major themes. To draw one card, or even many cards, of the Major Arcana would imply major, strong, powerful presenting energy in your life. Not to diminish the Minor Arcana in anyway, but they are the remaining 56 cards in the deck that are ordered in 4 categories:

  • The Pentacles

  • The Cups

  • The Swords

  • The Wands

Each correspond to the Four Elements and each have a card numbered 1-10 for their specific suit and also a Page, Knight, Queen and King. You do not have to know all of this like an academic. I, for one, am a huge proponent of 'start using it and eventually the knowledge sinks in'. It wasn't until later that I started studying the Tarot from a more historic, scholarly and esoteric standpoint. I firmly believe anyone can use the Tarot.

Stay tuned for Friday's first combination in the Tarot Combination Series - Learn what it means to draw the Knight of Swords, Queen of Pentacles and King of Pentacles together.

Yours in the Mystery,

Jacqueline Sevenstar
